295, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, CM1 4DU
We took over the clinic in April 2009 and have enjoyed getting to know many of the previously registered clients and meeting new ones who have joined since we took over.
The clinic has been present for over 20 years and has been updated to provide full diagnostic and surgical facilities, which include a surgical theatre, x-ray facilities and dental ultra-sonic scaler. We are currently enrolled on the RCVS practice standards scheme and have acheived Tier Two Status.
The practice opens from 8.30am – 18.30pm Monday to Friday for help advice and collections. Consultations are between 8.30am – 11am and 3.30pm – 6.30pm and on Saturdays 9.00am – 12.30pm. We have a late night consultation clinic on a Thursday night to 7.30pm.
NEW WEEKEND EMERGENCY SERVICE
We are now also open from 12.30pm – 6pm on Saturday and 8am – 6pm on Sundays at our Witham Hospital.
This is an emergency service for Spring Lodge clients that is staffed by our own Vets and nurses – please call 07702 070037 for help between these times.
The clinic has its own dedicated staff of the main veterinary surgeon Nadine, nurses Vici and Sarah and receptionists Lesley and Diane.
Nadine Smith is the senior veterinary surgeon working at the Chelmsford Centre; however 2 afternoons a week and some Saturdays we have other Spring Lodge veterinary surgeons joining us.
Our goal is to provide a gold standard of treatment at all times. To do this we often have to stay one step ahead of many other veterinary practices even in our routine procedures. That means that your cat, dog or rabbit gets treated to the best possible care – before, during and after their visit.
If your pet needs to go undergo a procedure within the clinic you can be assured that your pet will receive appropriate pain relief in combination with modern anaesthetic agents. The operation will be performed in a dedicated theatre, by a surgeon wearing a mask, a hat, a sterile gown and gloves. A trained Veterinary Nurse will continuously monitor the patient throughout the procedure.
When necessary we are able to refer patients to our Witham hospital where our diagnostic and surgical facilities are more extensive. Spring Lodge’s Witham Hospital is the only practice in Mid-Essex that has achieved the prestigious ‘RCVS Veterinary Hospital’ accreditation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for which we are independently inspected every four years.
Patients requiring overnight hospitalisation are transferred to our hospital where on-site nursing and veterinary care is administered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Spring Lodge use Vets Now Ltd to provide their ‘out of hours’ service. They provide a dedicated service much like that of the A & E department and are available for emergency assistance or advice from within our Witham Hospital between 8pm and 8am and from 12.30pm Saturday to 8am Monday. Please go to www.vets-now.com for more information (Vets Now Fees apply to this service).
