About Us

Learn more about us and our six Spring Lodge Vet Clinics in the heart of Essex

A Warm Welcome

Spring Lodge Veterinary Clinics are all based within a few miles of each other in the heart of Essex.

Witham Hospital

Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital has been caring for animals in Witham for more than forty years, evolving from a chicken farm to a veterinary surgery in the 1950′s.

Since that time the practice has had three owners with the current owner Neil Hodson taking charge in 1992.

The main surgery at Witham gained hospital status in 1998 and has recently been re inspected and passed to ensure it still fulfils this title.

Aside from being a hospital, we also provide veterinary nurse consultations for nail clipping, microchipping, behaviour advice and general health checks.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive service for all clients in a friendly and efficient manner. If you would like further information on the services on offer please consult our services page or get in touch.

You will find our contact details, opening hours and directions to the hospital on our contact page.

Tiptree Clinic

We opened as a branch practice of Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital in 1997, and are situated in the village centre.

Our veterinary surgeons, who look after your pets and oversee the running of the practice, are assisted by our nurses, who offer regular nursing clinics for microchipping, nail clipping, health advice and preventative health treatments. Our reception staff are there to answer any questions, provide advice and book appointments. You can meet the whole team here.

Any animals requiring hospitalisation or operations are transported in our ambulance to our Witham Hospital for the team of vets and qualified nurses to care for.

Great Notley Clinic

We opened as a branch practice of Spring Lodge Veterinary Hospital in 1999, originally working from a demountable ‘hut’ on the site of the recently renamed ‘Prince Louis’ while we were waiting for our practice to be completed.

Our veterinary surgeons, who look after your pets and oversee the running of the practice, are assisted by our nurses, who offer regular nursing clinics for microchipping, nail clipping, health advice and preventative health treatments. Broomfield Road Clinic

We took over the clinic in April 2009 and have enjoyed getting to know many of the previously registered clients and meeting new ones who have joined since we took over.

The clinic has been present for over 20 years and has been updated to provide full diagnostic and surgical facilities, which include a surgical theatre, x-ray facilities and dental ultrasonic scaler.

We are currently enrolled on the RCVS practice standards scheme and have acheived Tier Two Status.

Our goal is to provide a gold standard of treatment at all times. To do this we often have to stay one step ahead of many other veterinary practices even in our routine procedures. That means that your cat, dog or rabbit gets treated to the best possible care - before, during and after their visit.

If your pet needs to go undergo a procedure within the clinic you can be assured that your pet will receive appropriate pain relief in combination with modern anaesthetic agents. The operation will be performed in a dedicated theatre, by a surgeon wearing a mask, a hat, a sterile gown and gloves. A trained veterinary nurse will continuously monitor the patient throughout the procedure.

When necessary, we are able to refer patients to our Witham Hospital where our diagnostic and surgical facilities are more extensive. Spring Lodge’s Witham Hospital is the only practice in Mid-Essex that has achieved the prestigious ‘RCVS Veterinary Hospital’ accreditation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for which we are independently inspected every four years.

Patients requiring overnight hospitalisation are transferred to our hospital where on-site nursing and veterinary care is administered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will find our contact details, opening hours and directions to the clinic on our contact page.

Beaulieu Square Clinic

Our brand new, purpose built clinic is located in Beaulieu Square within the new Beaulieu Park development and will work closely with our popular, existing clinic in Broomfield Road.

The new clinic has full surgical and diagnostic facilities and includes a surgical preparation room, operating theatre, ward areas and x-ray facilities.

We are able to carry out general surgery, dental procedures, radiography and also have additional in-house equipment for routine blood analysis.

At Spring Lodge Veterinary Group we understand the specific needs of the variety of species we treat and continuously strive to provide the best possible care for both our clients and their pets. The clinic has separate dog and cat waiting areas to make your pets visit to the clinic as stress free as possible and within the clinic there are separate dog and cat/small pet wards to make their stay with as calm as possible.
