RVN - Clinic Nurse

We require a motivated RVN to work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as a clinic nurse, and to participate in a 1:7 Saturday morning rota and minimal OOH rota.

The successful candidate would be part of a clinic nurse team providing a variety of dedicated nurse consultations across our Witham, Tiptree and Great Notley branches to promote and improve the health of our patients. The role would also allow for the candidate to maintain clinical skills within our main hospital in Witham.

About the practice

We are a RCVS accredited small animal hospital in Witham, Essex with 5 other accredited branches all a short drive from the hospital. 3 of these branches are ‘stand-alone’ branches with facilities to image and operate. The other two branches are ‘consulting only’ branches which feed into the main hospital.

The hospital has a full in-house lab, separate isolation, cat and dog wards. We have an orthopaedic theatre, lots of surgical kit including laparoscopic equipment and various endoscopes. All x-ray machines are digital, 3 of the sites have an ultrasound machine. We are also proud to be an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic as well as a RWAF Rabbit Friendly Clinic.

The main hospital in Witham is in walkable distance to a main line train station for easy access to London and is within driving distance to the East coast. We have a good mixture of surrounding countryside and town and we are only half an hour to Stanstead airport.

About the team

We have a fantastic, friendly team of vets, nurses and support staff, that have a wide range of interests, and who provide support to each other whilst working within our busy clinics. Many of the clinical staff hold or are working towards further qualifications. Our nurses enjoy lots of responsibility within the practice, allowing our vets the time to concentrate on their clinical skills and client care. We are a training practice and like to be involved in supporting the next cohort of vets and nurses.

We are well known in the area and are active in the community, and often sponsor local events. Although we are a big team we are a close team, with many members of staff having been part of the Spring Lodge family for many years. We like to let our hair down regularly with a good party or just by celebrating each other’s personal event.
